St. John's Music

Music at St. John's is an important component of our parish life.

Our choirs complement and encourage congregational participation. We sing a balanced variety of musical styles from the rich repertoire of liturgical music.

St. John's Youth Choir

The Adult Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 service from September to June. They sing at a few special services as well, including a joint evensong service with other area choirs. Rehearsal is every Thursday from 7:15-8:45 pm. The choir meets Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am to review hymns and the anthem. All enthusiastic singers are welcome to join us for a wonderful musical experience. There are also choir picnics and get-togethers throughout the year.

The Children's Choir welcomes children from ages kindergarten through fifth grade and sings at services once a month during the school year. In addition, there are special outings and parties. Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons, 4:30–5:30 p.m. Click here for pictures from Choir Camp 2005.

The Youth Choir welcomes children in middle school and high school and sings at services once a month during the school year. In addition there are special outings and parties. Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons, 5:30-6:30.

The Handbell Choir provides an opportunity for people of all ages and who love music to play together. The Handbell Choir rings at one Sunday service a month during the school year and during special Christmas and Lenten services. Anyone who enjoys music and is interested should join this enthusiastic group, which rehearses every Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:15 pm.

For more information please either call our director of music, Nancy Radloff, at the parish office (273-6532), or see her after the Sunday service by the organ or send an e-mail to Nancy Radloff.
