John's Music

Music at St. John's is an important component of our parish life.
Our
choirs complement and encourage congregational participation.
We sing a balanced variety of musical styles from the rich repertoire
of liturgical music.

St. John's Youth Choir |
The
Adult Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 service from September
to June. They sing at a few special services as well, including
a joint evensong service with other area choirs. Rehearsal is every
Thursday from 7:15-8:45 pm. The choir meets Sunday Mornings at 9:30
am to review hymns and the anthem. All enthusiastic singers are welcome
to join us for a wonderful musical experience. There are also choir picnics
and get-togethers throughout the year.
The Children's Choir welcomes children from ages kindergarten through fifth grade and sings at services once a month during the school year. In addition, there are special outings and parties. Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons, 4:30–5:30 p.m. Click here for pictures from Choir Camp 2005.
The Youth Choir
welcomes children in middle school and high school and sings at services once
a month during the school year. In addition there are special outings
and parties. Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons, 5:30-6:30.
The Handbell
Choir provides an opportunity for people of all ages and who love
music to play together. The Handbell Choir rings at one Sunday service
a month during the school year and during special Christmas and Lenten
services. Anyone who enjoys music and is interested should join this
enthusiastic group, which rehearses every Wednesday evenings, 6:45-8:15
pm.
