• The Transition Committee will review each candidate who submits a completed application packages as that package is received.

• Each candidate will be engaged on an individual discernment process and schedule.

• The Transition Committee will conduct phone interviews with selected candidates.

• If warranted by phone interviews, further discernment will take place by visits to qualified candidates by members of the Transition Committee.

• Finalists will be asked to visit St. John’s for interviews with the Vestry and the Transition Committee.

• Finalists also will be asked to meet with the Bishop of Central New York at his office in Syracuse, New York.

• Oxford background checks will be performed on any finalist.

• When the Vestry discerns that a particular candidate fulfills the qualifications to serve as the next rector, it will issue a Call.

• St. John’s will accept applications and engage in discernment with all candidates  until a Call is issued to and accepted by a particular candidate.
