St. John’s Parish Profile

St. John’s Parish Profile (August 2017)

As part of the search and discernment process, the St. John’s search committee conducted a parish self-study to describe St. John’s and its ministries. The committee concluded this phase by producing the parish profile, based on a “spiritual genealogy” (the story of our corporate journey of faith), and in larger part, on input received in focus group sessions, primarily with parishioners, but also with community groups that have a relationship with St. John’s.

Many gave freely of their time, energy and talent – a debt of gratitude is owed to our recent Interim Rector The Rev. Barb Schmitz, Diocesan Transition Officers Judy Fried (retired at the end of 2016) and The Rev. Canon Carrie Schofield-Broadbent, Libby Hedrick (who took most of the photos), Jamie Parris (who edited and formatted the profile), the wardens, vestry and parishioners of St. John’s, and above all, to God. “Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)
