St. John’s Choir

The Chancel Choir of St. John’s has an average of 15 singers on Sundays from September to June. The singers range in age from early twenties to octogenarians and are a mix of professional vocalists, highly trained music lovers, and enthusiastic amateurs. During the program year, we meet to rehearse on Thursday evenings and on Sunday mornings prior to the second service; during the summer months, rehearsals are on Sunday mornings before the second service to practice the anthem and sing for the service. Our repertoire includes a cappella pieces as well as works with piano or organ accompaniment. Our sanctuary has an outstanding Steinway B grand piano as well as a three-manual Schlicker pipe organ, and the Choir Rehearsal Room has a Steinway grand piano.
